FOV & ADS Calculator
Calculate your hipfire and ADS sensitivity in one place. Understand how FOV affects your aim and get game-specific recommendations.
Valorant uses fixed 103° horizontal FOV, no ADS multiplier system
Hipfire Sensitivity
ADS Sensitivity by Scope
FOV Recommendation
Your FOV is in the optimal range for competitive play.
Understanding Your Settings
Your hipfire sensitivity is very high. ADS will feel even faster, which may hurt precision.
0% Monitor Distance: ADS matches edge-to-edge turning speed. Good for flick shots.

How to Use the FOV/ADS Calculator
Select Your Game
Choose your game from the dropdown. Each game has specific FOV systems and ADS multipliers pre-configured.
Enter Your Settings
Input your mouse DPI, in-game hipfire sensitivity, and current FOV setting.
Choose Monitor Distance
Select your preferred Monitor Distance mode (0%, 50%, 75%, or 100%) for ADS calculations.

Understanding FOV and ADS
Field of View (FOV) determines how much of the game world you can see on screen. Higher FOV gives you better peripheral vision but makes targets appear smaller. ADS (Aim Down Sights) sensitivity controls how fast you turn when scoped in.
FOV Types
- Horizontal FOV: Measures the angle from left to right edge of screen
- Vertical FOV: Measures the angle from top to bottom of screen
- Diagonal FOV: Measures corner to corner (less common)
ADS Multipliers
- 1.0x: Same speed as hipfire
- <1.0x: Slower than hipfire (more precise)
- >1.0x: Faster than hipfire (rare)
What is Monitor Distance?
The key to consistent ADS sensitivity
Monitor Distance determines how your ADS sensitivity relates to your hipfire sensitivity. It's based on where on your screen you want the "feel" to match.
Edge-to-edge turning speed matches. Best for flick shots and fast target acquisition.
Middle ground between edge and center. Good all-around choice.
Popular among competitive players. Good balance of tracking and flicking.
Center-screen speed matches. Best for precision tracking and holding angles.
Game-Specific FOV & ADS Tips
Optimal settings for popular FPS games
Valorant

- • Adjustable 80-103° FOV
- • Hero-specific scoped sens
- • Most pros use 103 FOV
- • Set per-hero ADS settings
Rainbow Six Siege
- • Adjustable 60-90° FOV
- • Extensive per-optic settings
- • Most pros use 83-90 FOV
- • Fine-tune each magnification
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does ADS feel faster/slower than hipfire?
When you ADS, your FOV decreases (zooms in). This makes the same mouse movement cover more visual distance, making it feel faster. Games use ADS multipliers to compensate, but the "feel" depends on your Monitor Distance setting.
What Monitor Distance should I use?
Most competitive players use 0% for flick-heavy games (CS2, Valorant) and 75-100% for tracking-heavy games (Apex, OW2). Try different values and see what feels most consistent to you.
Should I use the same ADS sensitivity for all scopes?
Not necessarily. Higher magnification scopes (4x, 6x, 8x) often benefit from lower sensitivity for precision. Many pros use different settings for each optic to maintain consistent "feel" across zoom levels.
What's the best FOV for competitive gaming?
Most pros use 100-110° horizontal FOV when adjustable. Higher FOV gives better awareness but makes targets smaller. If you struggle to hit shots, try lowering FOV slightly. If you get flanked often, increase it.
